The Clerk’s office is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Appointments are still required for many services – see below.

The Town Clerk’s office is responsible for the administration of all elections, maintaining and recording land records and vital records, issuing dog, marriage, hunting and fishing licenses, maintaining the town’s archives and board and committee minutes, and renewing registrations for motor vehicles. The Town Clerk also coordinates meetings of and acts as clerk for the Boards of Abatement and Civil Authority.

Land Records: Our land records are now online back to 1983. You can access these records via Cott Systems (additional convenience fees may apply for online downloads). These documents as well as older land records can also be accessed in person in our vault, where a research fee of $4 per hour and a copying fee of $1 per page apply. Please make an appointment with Judy to access the vault.

Appointments: The Clerk still requires appointments for land record research, accessing maps, and making deed copies. Appointments are recommended for obtaining a marriage license. You can either call or email to make an appointment.

Please note that we no longer offer notary services at Tracy Hall, nor do we sell Norwich Transfer Station stickers or punch cards.
