The Listers (Assessors) are charged by State statute with assessing every property in town at its “fair market value” for the Grand List. The taxes generated for the Town and School budgets are based on the final Total Real Estate Value of the Grand List.
Detailed Property Record Cards are available from the Assessing Clerk or may be printed from the public access terminal in the Assessor’s/Listers’ Office during office hours.
The Norwich Assessor’s/Listers’ Office is officially open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm and Tuesday and Friday 8:30-11:30 am, when Jonathan Bynum, the Assessing Clerk, will be present.
Assessor’s hours are Mondays and Thursdays 9 am – 1 pm and by appointment.
Listers are by appointment only.
