To the Community of Norwich:
Hemlock Road, located off Route 5, is a dead-end road and will be closed starting tomorrow, Thursday, July 20, 2023, for the foreseeable future due to an imminent threat of a significant slope failure. The impacted residents living along the roadway have all been contacted and will be relocating temporarily. We will be working with our state, regional, and technical engineering partners to develop a plan to mitigate the issue. This may take weeks and likely months to develop an engineering solution and address the failure.
Please do not attempt to use this roadway as this is a safety issue.
