On May 11, 2022, the Norwich select board decided to close the Chapel Hill Road South Bridge effective immediately, due to serious safety concerns.  As of Thursday, May 12, 2022, the bridge will be closed until further notice.  Concrete blocks with a road closed sign are being installed in front of the Chapel Road South Road Bridge and at the intersection of Chapel Hill South Road and Mitchell Brook Road.  All residences on Chapel Hill South Road can be reached in case of emergency, but the road is now a dead end.  Access from Chapel Hill South Road to Mitchell Brook Road will now be made via Beaver Meadow Road.
